Police in Vancouver say there is still no evidence to substantiate a claim that a six-year-old girl was lured to the Sexsmith Elementary School property and was sexually assaulted in December.
Police said they had studied tips from the public, conducted interviews with staff and students, watched the neighborhood and reviewed videos but could not verify the original story.
VPD Sgt. Jason Robilar said the investigation is continuing.
"We feel this is an important update for parents, teams, students and the wider community to be aware of," says Robillard.
"Investigating any claim that affects a person's personal safety, especially the health and safety of a child, is a priority for the Vancouver police."
