Central Bohemia – the disease has grown, but the flu can not. Thus, the findings of the main bohemian hygienists resulting from the evaluation of reports by practitioners and pediatricians on the occurrence of acute respiratory infections and influenza among patients in the 46th week of the calendar can be summarized.
In cases where influenza was the result of the clinical picture of the disease, there was a third increase compared to the previous week – an increase of 33.3%. This type of disease in Central Bohemia now represents eight patients per 100,000 inhabitants. However, the real flu does not work, says Lillian Ruml, head of antidepidemic department of the Bohemia Hygiene Center. This has been proven by a laboratory study. "The influenza virus was negative from biological sampling performed," Rommel said.
However, these flu-like diseases are just a drop in the sea of absolute morbidity; According to hygienist calculations, they represent only 0.8 percent of all acute respiratory infections in the region. In the case of the previous week, an increase of 6.9 percent was recorded.
Within the national average, the total disease is 1054 diseases per 100,000 inhabitants. There are, however, significant differences between regions. The highest rate of patients was recorded in Pííbram (where, however, the situation was almost unchanged from the previous week); On the contrary, it is best for Kladensko. "The most affected age group is children under the age of five," Rommel recalled, in a condition typical of the spread of respiratory diseases in the population.
