Botswana calls for restructuring of AU

Botswana On Monday, 12 November 2018, called for the restructuring of the African Union (AU) as it supports the agenda of reform of the continental body.

In a statement issued ahead of the 11th Extraordinary Session of the Council of Heads of State and Government held in Ethiopia on Friday, 16 November 2018, the South African said that "strongly supports the agenda of the African Union reforms, which is aimed at restructuring the continental body effectively and effectively cope with developmental challenges , And in particular the achievement of Agenda 2063: Africa we want! "

The statement added that the summit, to be held under the title 2018: "Winning the fight against corruption: a viable path for transforming Africa's transformation", will discuss the institutional reform of the EU, focusing specifically on the reform of the EU Commission mandated by the AU Development Agency (AUDA).

In addition, the extraordinary summit will consider the outcome of the 19th extraordinary session of the Executive Committee on the ACP Post 2020 Framework.

President of Botswana, Mokgweetsi Eric Keabetswe Masisi, arrives in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia on 16 November 2018, to participate in the 11th extraordinary session of the Board of Directors of the States and Governments of the African Union (AU), to be held from 17 November 2018 to 18 November 2018.
