Opening of the International Science Conference “Heritage and Archeology in the Arab World” in Balkans

A representative of the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Acting Director of the Department of Antiquities, Hisham al-Abadi, stated that “Cultural heritage is an important component in contemporary human development and clearly contributes to the crystallization of its current cultural personality, as human societies differ in cultural heritage. Which can be an important and essential factor in its development and progress.
Al-Abadi added, under the auspices of the Fifth International Scientific Conference, entitled “Heritage and Archeology in the Arab World” at Al-Ahlia Amman University in Balqa, organized by Friends of the Jordanian Parliament in partnership with the “World” Association of Arab Academics and Pioneers of Arab Science And Media-Palestine and with Al-Ahlia Amman University and Al-Zeituna University in Jordan. “This is only a testament to the importance of the event and the highlight of the role of the city of Salt throughout history and its impact on the construction of the Jordanian state, and a celebration worthy of it as the first city.”
Al-Abadi pointed out that the city of Salt, which hosts the conference, is a unique model for this heritage, as the city’s history spans more than 5,500 years, and today the world recognizes a long history of hospitality by including it on the World Heritage List.
Former Salt Mayor Angel Khaled al-Khashman delivered the city’s speech in which he said: “We sought through the municipality the Royal Committee for the Development of the City, the Salt Rehabilitation Fund, the Ministry of Tourism and the institutions that work with it, to extract a live file for the Salt City ( Heritage of Life) and we took special regulatory provisions for the city center, and it was the first organization of its kind in the Arab world., And had a respectable media role in this file to elevate al-Sal to the World Heritage List, and it was a city of tolerance and urban hospitality.
Dr. Fayez al-Rabi, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Hashemite University, delivered a speech to Arab academics and scholars, in which he confirmed that the convening of this conference is in line with the centenary celebration of the Jordanian state. And the inclusion of the city of salt in the World Heritage List, a conference organized by the Association of Friends of the Jordanian Parliament in collaboration with a number of factors.
He added that the city of al-Salat, which we call the city of the first, the bride of al-Balqa, the city of figs and grapes, as the Romans called it. Her human being is a hard flint, if she tries to hit him her sparks will fly, and if she puts her in a place that keeps her position.
The conference’s secretary general, Dr. Ibrahim Alklov, delivered a speech at the opening of the conference, emphasizing that the conference was held to mark the centenary celebrations of the Jordanian state and the inclusion of the city of Salt, the “city of tolerance and civilized hospitality” on the UNESCO World Heritage List. The conference was over fifty.Researchers and academics from 15 Arab countries presented more than 30 scientific papers judged by the conference’s Scientific Committee by publishing the conference’s free research in the University’s journals of law and humanities.
The conference included 5 meetings, attended by experts from Jordan, Palestine, the Gaza Strip, Libya, Egypt, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Syria and Algeria.
