We can be heroes and won the "Best International Documentary" Grand Prix in Toronto Hot Docs and is currently shortlisted for the Academy Award nominee. This is the first time that a Moroccan documentary has won its prizes.
We can be shot heroes for 4 years. It has been four years since the film's crew gathered to capture key moments in the ordinary and unusual daily life of Safi's youth with disabilities who dreamed of a world beyond the barrier of their city. 4 years of personal sacrifice, joy and tears to the film crew, as well as their subjects, who are proud to share with the audience.
Combining poetry and politics, we can be heroes, repeating the struggle of the handicapped double champion Azzedine Noiri to Morocco better, where he and his brothers and sisters with disabilities can live in a proper manner. It is not a film about disability but what Morocco has to offer its young people who want to get by.
We can be heroes is a soft journey to the center What unites us all: hope.
