Students make an attempt to record the longest beer crate bridge

Creating a bridge and a beer crate with a range of 28 meters that is a project that forty students of civil engineering at the University of Twente (UT) are working on for months. Since this week, they have been building on university grounds to set a new record on Saturday.

On Saturday afternoon, the scaffolding that supported the bridge will be removed during construction. If a bridge and a beer crate can remain safe for at least one hour without any assistance, a record attempt is successful.

New Experience

This record attempt made Twente University eight years ago, but it failed. "Every year, the ConcepT Research Association has a new board, which has the task of putting the research and association in positive condition." The last time Enschede attempted an attempt was in 2010 and it failed at the time, so we thought it would be a good idea to take the fight again, "R." Krattenbrug Committee "Kelt Garritsen (20) last week at AD.

The current peak is in the hands of Eindhoven University of Technology, which in 2016 managed to build a 26.69-meter-caster bridge beer. In recent years, bridge building has therefore been mainly a battle between Eindhoven University of Technology and TU Delft.

7576 crates Grolsch

7576 crates from Grolsch, a famous beer brewer from Enschede, were used for construction. This touches both crates and empty crates filled with water. Grolsch is happy to cooperate with this, and this is a bit of a luxury struggle over the Twente region and Grolsch is part of that, "Garritsen says.

The attempt to record is not Guinness Book of Records, but only a Dutch university affair.
