Oculus ambition can be the device that makes the VR market around and attracts the masses. It is easy to use, simple to setup, and performs well and is reasonably priced. It's basically a gaming console built into a headset, which is much better than you probably expect.

A long time is coming
Oculus has been building towards an independent VR solution, without tying for a long time. The company first unveiled the Santa Cruz Project in October 2016 at Oculus Connect 3. Quest is not the first attempt of Oculus on an independent VR headset. Last year, the company released the Oculus for. The headset supports basic 3 degrees of freedom (DoF) tracking. He replaced the Gear VR platform but did not raise the VR bar very high. As an entry-level device designed to introduce people to VR, Oculus Go does a great job. Oculus Quest gets its processing power from the 835 SoC Snapdragon, which was cutting edge when Oculus started working with the platform in 2016. The Oculus Quest headset ran off-platform computing less robust than the fracture, but it did not prevent Oculus from improving hardware to display the new headset. The Oculus Quest features dual 1440×1600 displays, which is a significant improvement over 1080×1200 of herpes eye resolution.
To compensate for lower computing power and higher resolution, Oculus preferred a lower refresh rate to reduce performance requirements.

Insight Tracking System
In addition to driving the graphics, the Qualcomm processor must also calculate the headphones and controller positions.
To break the headset without the host computer, Oculus created the Insight tracking system for Quest. It uses hands-free cameras to map the environment. Quest uses four cameras with fish eye lenses to track movements. Two cameras are installed in the upper corners facing outward and slightly back. The other two cameras are on the lower edge, facing forward and down to follow the floor and the bottom half of the space.
This is quite different from Constellation's external sensor-based tracking system, which monitors infrared patterns in headphones with cameras on the desktop. The cameras require a high level of USB bandwidth and sensors that you must wire to your computer.
New touch controllers
Insight cameras are also used to monitor the movement of your touch controllers. New controllers include all the same buttons and pretty much the same layout as the original touch controllers. However, Oculus moved the aura with the tracking lights to the top of the controls so that the headset-based cameras can see them with less jamming.
When the controllers are visible to the cameras, tracking loyalty is as good as you get with the fracture. And when you get beyond the look of the cameras, Oculus uses the software and details to estimate the location of the controls. Unlike Windows mixed reality controllers, which do not track well outside of the camera range, the new touch controls work well beyond the camera's view field.
The new touch controllers are quite similar to the old controllers, but with improved ergonomics. The company made the handles a little thicker, and this is a change I welcome. The original controls were a bit too small, and my hands always shrank when I used them. The new shape is much more convenient for me.
