The Chamber of Arcos de Valdevez, approved the 2019 budget of nearly 28 million euros, plus a million than in 2018, said Mayor Lucitania Lusa today.
In a conversation with Losa, Manuel Estevez said that the program, which was approved by most of the PSD (six elements), was based on funding from community funds and said the document would "win people, families and business investments."
The program Arcos de Valdevez program budget, worth 27,863,300 euros, was approved on Friday with a vote against the only element of the opposition of the executive, PS Council, Dora Brandão.
Manuel Esteves explained that "the training of human resources will be a great gamble for the municipal manager in 2019, strengthening the school for social action, granting scholarships and strengthening the school's equipment."
The Social Democratic Minister said that the document also provides "support for re-populating the district, providing better solutions for young people to obtain land at attractive prices to build their homes or rent."
As for support for families, the mayor said, "It is planned to reduce taxes and municipal taxes and investment in people's quality of life, whether by rehabilitating the public space or services such as water supply and sanitation."
João Manuel Esteves also stressed the "strong commitment to expanding business parks and promoting tourism in the province."
"The development strategy of Arcos de Valdevez is in line with the European Union and Portugal 2020. We want a more innovative, more sustainable, closer, more comprehensive municipality," he said.
Noted by the Lusa agency, city councilor PS Dora Brandão lamented that "once again, the democratic social majority has brought a document" late and lacking, without political guidance, only with a list of income and expenditure. "
According to the anonymous, the document was delivered "by email, at the end of the day," the day before the hearing, "when the minimum legal period is 48 hours."
Dora Brandeau thought that the revenues that appeared in the document "are not strict because they see values in arnona, ie IMI and IMT, which have not yet been discussed."
He also condemned the "allocation of funds to the Councils of Communities," noting that "the protocols expected to have the same value, 30 thousand euros, for all communities regardless of the territory, population and characteristics of each."
"This affects should be based on population criteria since the Arcos de Valdevez is one of the municipalities of the province of Viana do Castelo, which has lost more population in recent years," he claimed, arguing that the document "does not increase support funds for families."
