Influenza and acute respiratory diseases again in the Banskobystrický region this week. Epidemiologists of the Regional Health Authority (RÚVZ) in Banska Bystrica reported an increase of almost 11% in respiratory diseases (ARO) compared to the previous week. Of these diseases, nearly 12% occurred in influenza and similar diseases (CHPO) compared to the previous week.
"Compared to the same period last year, the prevalence of ARO this year is 11 percent, and CHPO up to 85 percent," said Maria Tolnai, spokeswoman for the department.
Overall, doctors in the Banskobystrický region reported 46,431 patients in ARO in the 46th week calendar, which has a morbidity of nearly 1430 people per 100,000 residents in the treatment of doctors reported this week. Influenza and similar diseases occurred in 379 cases, with morbidity of over 112 per 100,000 inhabitants.
The highest number of ARO patients in absolute figures is in the provinces of Lučenec, Zvolen, Banská Bystrica and Revúca. Influenza and its similar diseases are most common in the provinces of Lučenec, Poltar, Bansrica Bansrica and Banska Štiavnica.
In terms of disease age, ARO and CHPO in absolute numbers are most affected by the age group of the economically active population, primary school children and children under the age of five. The lowest incidence of these diseases is this time among the elderly.
