Independence, Mo. – A man on bond for the murder of Independence of 2017 was charged with murder, assault Sunday.
Michael Tomas, 27, faces charges of first-degree murder, first-degree assault and two counts of armed criminal activity, according to the District Attorney's Office, Jane Peters Baker.
The Independence Police responded to the house at Block 3800 of Sterling Avenue before 5:30 am on Monday, according to legal reports. They found two victims at home.
Eyewitnesses told police that Domash was recently with the victim of the murder, identified as Sims.
The witness told the police that Dumas was a suspect in the 2017 murder and was in contact.
Sims, the victim in the first shooting, was witness to a cooperative crime of 2017, according to the witness.
Witness described how the Demans shot the victim with a shotgun and wounded another victim. The police found a shotgun on the spot. Domas's car was parked outside and shells similar to those found at the scene were found near the vehicle.
The Independence Police reported that Diomas was taken into custody shortly before 4:30. Sunday.
The plaintiffs requested $ 750,000 in cash.
