In preparation for Sunday's match between the Patriots and the Titans, Marcus Mariotta praised Tom Brady's ability to stay so good for so long in the NFL.
Eric Bacharach, USA Today Network – Tennessee

Welcome to the club, Nick Mullens.

Consider yourself, a member of Club # 417.

When San Francisco 49er started against the Oakland Raiders on November 1, he joined the elite club: the number of NFL quarterbacks who started at least one game since the beginning of the 2001 season.

The meaning of 2001? This is the season Tom Brady started the NFL for the first time. He replaced Drew Bledso as the Patriots' contender on September 30, the third game of New England that season.

When Brady starts against Tennessee Titans on Sunday (noon, WTVF-5), it will be the usual 261 season of his career, most certainly the most of the NFL quarterback during the past 18 seasons.

"When you play in the 40s to smile, I think he himself says a lot about how he handles his body, how he did it … The life expectancy of the NFL is so short and for him to go up and say a lot about what he did, Said quarterback Tetas Marcus Mariotta, who will make the 49th start for the Titans on Sunday.

Is one of the 15 different starting points the Titans have used since the beginning of the 2001 season. Steve McNair's 67 starts in more than the last 18 seasons of Tennessee.

A TODAY Tennessee network study of quarterbacks starting from the NFL since the beginning of the 2001 season revealed some interesting facts and some strange data. Including:

► In 4,478 games were played, there were 417 starting quarterbacks. Each group used an average of 13 for 18 seasons.

► Tom Brady became a patriot of the Patriots on September 30, 2001, 29 days after the September 11 attacks. Brady replaced Drew Baldesso, who was injured in the Patriots game on September 23 against New York jets. Marietta was 7 years old when Brady started his first NFL.

► The Cleveland Browns started 27 different quarterbacks (37 by Tim Cauch leading the Brown list). 27 Browns is the same amount as the other three North APC franchises combined (Ravens 12, Steelers 8, Bengals 7).

The charges began the least, only three: the rivers of Philip, 200; Drew Brees, 58, Doug Flutie, 22. Rivers has all started playing chargers since the beginning of the 2006 season.

►Rivers is a member of a very limited 200 start club: Tom Brady, 260; Eli Manning, 222; Ben Rotlisberger, 206; Rivers, 200.

►Mullens is the 48th quarterback to start just one game for a franchise during the last 18 seasons. He is expected to get the No. 2 against the New York Giants on Monday.

► Ryan Fitzpatrick began with seven franchisees, totaling 124 starts. The current starter for Tampa Bay Bucs (eight starts heading into this weekend) has also started for Buffalo bills (53 times), New York Jets (27), Houston Texans (12), Cincinnati Bengals (12), Tennessee Titans (9) and St. Louis Rams (3).

► Matt Castle began with six different franchises, but his praise has an asterisk. He started playing one with buffalo accounts in 2015 when the regular starting quarterback Taylor Taylor lined up as a wide receiver on the first play. Kassel never started another game for the bills. He has, however, started for Kansas City Fries (47), New England Patriots (15), Minnesota Vikings (9), Dallas Cowboys (7) and Tennessee Titans (2).

Cowon, Brian Heuer and Vegas Proroot, each started in five different groups since the beginning of the 2001 season.

הטי The Titans used 15 different starters: Steve McNair 67, Marcus Mariotta 48, Vince Young 47, Kerry Collins 32, Jake Locker 23, Matt Hesselbeck 21, Zack Mettenberger 10, Billy Walker 10, Ryan Fitzpatrick 9, ### * Reli Whitehurst 5, Matt Castle 2, Blaine Gebrt 2, Neil O'Donnell 2, Matt Mauck 1, Rusty Smith.

Tennessee Titans have put a lot of confidence in the productivity of Malcolm Butler. So far it does not pay.
